Yes, birth is natural and works itself out. So why do you need a Birth Plan?

As I look back on my first birth, it is clear:
One reason to have a Birth Plan is to avoid procedures that could cause complications or emergencies. It could keep you safe and healthy. Another reason is to make sure your baby feels safe and welcome. The pregnancy, birth, and first hours have a huge impact on our physical and mental health, even if we can't remember it cognitively.
Maybe babies can't see with their eyes, but they are fully aware and perceive the energy. And there are some experiences, like the first touch, or whether he/she can hear your voice and heartbeat, which signify a safe place for your baby. Another tiny part: when the cord is cut (and the birth plan sample from the NHS page does not mention this tiny part).
As a holistic/energetic counselor, I would also say that with planning, you build a connection with your body, your baby, and your future birth.
I have to mention that preparation for birth does not start when you get a positive pregnancy test. You should take care of your body, your mind, and your health every day!
